Training Course on AS9100 Quality Management System and FAA Part Approval Process for Aviation Industry to USA (19-23 April 2007) (English Only)(2007-04-19)

With the fast growth of the worldwide aviation market, especially in Mainland as well as strong competition and price reduction among various airlines, the demand for lower cost and good quality aviation devices and components from lower manufacturing cost area grows rapidly; especially on non-critical devices and components such as seats, air conditioning devices, appliances, cabin interior, power supply, LCD screen, etc.  The high value-adding aircraft, aviation devices and components industry indeed has sales turnover comparable to the global automotive industry.   Besides, there are only a few companies in the Mainland and Southeast Asia being able to meet quality and technology standards and systems in supplying aircraft devices and components in the international market.   In view of this, it is justified to actively consider diversifying into aviation devices and components making.

One of the most important barriers hindering local manufacturers to enter the aviation industry is the acquirement of advanced AS9100 Quality Management System Certification for the company and gaining FAA Part Approval for the product.  These are the basic procurement requirement for being OEM devices and components suppliers to most civil aircraft companies and their 1st and 2nd tier subassembly suppliers.

This overseas course aims to enhance understanding of manufacturers on AS9100 quality management system and FAA part approval process to support them to enter the aviation industry and being a qualified OEM civil aviation devices, parts and components supplier.  This course was supported by the Hong Kong Aviation Industry Association and Hong Kong Auto Parts Industry Association.

Eight local industrialists had joined the training courses. The training was conducted by Ms. Joyce Washington, President and CEO of The Washington Group, Ltd., USA and experienced consultants and partners of The Washington Group.
