This year, HKAIA has successfully applied for SME Development Fund to promote the Hong Kong Aviation Industry to the Low Cost Carrier (LCC) market. Within this project, HKAIA will coordinate with various Hong Kong companies to form a Hong Kong Pavilion in three LCC related trade shows in Singapore, USA and China.

The Hong Kong Airport Authority has started consulting the public on the expansion of the Hong International Airport. They have released two development options in the HKIA Master Plan 2030. Hong Kong Aviation Industry Association strongly supports the expansion into a three-runway system considering, apart from maintaining Hong Kong’s competitiveness as an international business hub and a world-class city, but the growing demand of the capacity at the Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) and the possible contributions towards our community.

China International Aviation & Aerospace Exhibition (Airshow China) took place in Zhuhai from 16-18 November 2010. HKAIA was a co-organizer of following two conferences:
1. International General Aviation Forum (17 November 2010)
2. 2010 GHMT General Aviation Forum (18 November 2011)
Prof. Jackson HO, on behalf of HKAIA, gave a presentation on “Potential and Challenges of General Aviation Development in China”at the International General Aviation Forum.

HKAIA and the Hong Kong Productivity Council co-organized a Seminar on supply of PMA Aircraft Parts in Hong Kong at the HKPC Building on 5th November 2010. Representatives from Cathay Pacific Airways, Hong Kong Airlines, Hong Kong Dragon Airlines and Civil Aviation Department were invited to talk about their requirements of PMA parts supply and certification. More than 40 members and non-members attended the seminar.
